With this painting, I participated in the Amateur Exhibition 2025 at Huize Kernhem in Ede, where the Public Prize was awarded to this painting. The Public Prize is won by the Werkendam that received the most votes from the visitors. Very honored and happy with it, it has deeply touched people, and that is the greatest compliment I can receive.

The inspiration for this painting moved me because of the inward-looking atmosphere that the face radiates. It made me quiet, and I felt connected to what is happening there. I hope to convey that moment of stillness and being touched.
