With this painting, I participated in the Amateur Exhibition 2025 at Huize Kernhem in Ede, and there the Public Prize was awarded to this painting. The Public Prize is won by the work that received the most votes from visitors. I am very honored and happy about it; it has deeply touched people, and that is the greatest compliment I can receive.

The inspiration for this painting touched me because of the inward-looking atmosphere that the face radiates. It made me quiet, and I felt connected to what is happening there. I hope to convey that moment of stillness and emotion.
